All AAADM Certified Inspectors must renew with AAADM annually by completing a renewal exam and paying a renewal fee. This renewal requirement helps us keep in touch with inspectors and maintain an accurate database.
2027 AAADM Inspector Renewal Information
All AAADM Certified Inspectors are required to renew their certification annually. This renewal process helps AAADM maintain an accurate inspector database and stay connected with certified inspectors.
Please read all renewal instructions carefully before getting started. There are several important steps and requirements for completing your renewal, including an individual account requirement. Failure to follow these instructions may result in your certification not being renewed.
For 2027, all inspectors must pass an online renewal test before submitting their renewal payment.
- The test consists of 10 randomized questions.
- Inspectors must score at least 70% to pass.
- Inspectors have 60 minutes to complete the test.
- Reference materials are permitted, including the AAADM Training Manual and applicable ANSI Standards.
Each inspector is permitted two attempts to pass the test. If both attempts are unsuccessful, the inspector will be required to retake the Certification Training Course.

Important Renewal Information
Renewal Deadline: January 31, 2027
Renewal fees:
- Swing/Slide/Fold: $75
- Revolver: $30
IMPORTANT: Each Inspector Must Renew Through Their Own MyAAADM Account
Every inspector must log in to their own individual MyAAADM account to complete their renewal and submit payment.
Renewals cannot be purchased for multiple inspectors under one account.
For example, if Person A needs to renew their certification and Person B also needs to renew:
- Person A must log in to their own MyAAADM account, complete the renewal process, and submit payment.
- Person B must separately log in to their own MyAAADM account, complete the renewal process, and submit payment.
Purchasing multiple renewals while logged into one person’s account will NOT renew multiple inspectors. For example, if five renewals are purchased while logged into Person A’s account, the system will record five purchases under Person A’s account. Only Person A’s certification will be updated. The other four inspectors will remain unrenewed.
Please make sure each inspector completes their own renewal using their individual account. Failure to renew through the correct account may result in certification expiration.
Additional Reminders
- Please do not submit old renewal forms or use previous payment methods. PayPal is no longer accepted for renewals.
- If you have not previously accessed your MyAAADM account, select “Lost Your Password” on the login page to receive instructions for resetting your login credentials.
- AAADM no longer mails hardcopy certificates or IDs. Inspectors can download their digital certificates and IDs directly from their MyAAADM accounts.
Updated ANSI Standards Included with Swing/Slide/Fold Renewal
The $75 Swing/Slide/Fold renewal fee includes copies of the revised ANSI 156.19 and ANSI 156.38 Standards.
Please note the following:
- Standards will be shipped to the mailing address listed in the inspector’s MyAAADM account.
- Inspectors are responsible for ensuring their mailing address is current and correct. AAADM is not responsible for standards shipped to an incorrect address.
- Standards will not ship until the renewal period has closed.
- Only inspectors who have completed the renewal exam AND submitted payment by January 31, 2027, will receive the updated standards.
- Standards are expected to ship in late February or early March 2027.
